WT believes that there is a more dynamic, engaging way to train your people. It doesn’t have to involve the traditional ‘sit and listen’ and it doesn’t have to involve an inevitable ‘death by powerpoint’! Training shouldn’t be about regurgitating old information or remind us about what we’ve purposely (or maybe mistakenly) forgotten from the health and safety manuals and the text books. It should be about re-igniting our passion for our work, reminding our team about what we do, how and why we do it, and also about developing more effective practice for the future. Looking at old issues the same way you did last year, and the year before, and the year before that will just not do that. Looking at things from a new and more challenging perspective, might.

That’s where effective, creative, interactive facilitation from WT’s Creative Director Clare can help. With over 10 years experience of creative project management, countless youth and community training seminars and too many corporate networking events and conferences too keep track of under her belt, Clare won’t patronise your team. Instead, she’ll ask what your delegates want from their training, and work with you to develop a suitable workshop or seminar.

“Don’t just ‘think outside of the box’.
Turn the box upside down and give it a shake
to see what falls, crawls or jumps out of it!”

‘Oh no! You’re not going to make us do drama or role play, are you?!’…

This is the most common response I get when I first arrive to deliver training. But the answer is no.

I’d be lying if I promised never to use any dramatic techniques, but I will tell you this: What I call drama, is probably not the same as what you would call drama, because most people think of drama as what they learned it to be in secondary school, but that is simply not the same thing as this.

Yes, my approach takes some of it’s influence from drama methodology, and yes, it uses insights from my extensive experience of creative project management, and yes, it will (hopefully!) introduce you to some different ways to approach problems or objectives.

It will also provide you with a virtual toolkit that your team can keep to use and adapt for themselves, apply to new challenges in the future or use to explore old issues in a new light. It will provide you with an easy point of reference that you can go back to time and time again, and it will use practical, experiential, kinetic, emotionally and socially engaging learning techniques to explore your subject matter in a dynamic and entertaining environment.

But no, I will not make you do drama, or role play. I will not make you do anything. I will invite and encourage you to get up on your feet, to discuss, to debate and to experience your working environment in ways you may not have encountered before, and I will let you take away from it whatever you need and want to, and simply discard the bits that you don’t.

I will make it my personal objective to facilitate a positive and memorable experience that validates you as an individual, as part of a group, team or department and as an integral, cohesive part of a larger company or organisation. Training just doesn’t work if it’s dull. Fact.
